Initial ideas

Independent Practice is a self led module that allows me to explore an area of my own particular interest within the industry.
I have interests in both writing and broadcast journalism. The areas within these that I would like to work within are; sports, travel writing, economics, and mainstream news.
These are the areas that I am looking into investigating so that I can develop a more concise and professional portfolio consisting of a high standard of work for publication in either print, online, or both.

One idea that I have had is to create a students guide to travelling, exploring working abroad, TEFL, and all associated information with this, travelling to places such as France, Germany, Cape Verde, St Lucia, and more.
The places I would write about would all be places that I had visited/worked within. It would be created in such a way that it was appealing to not just students but people looking for a career change, a break, or a gap year, or possibly just a bundle of different experiences.
The guide would aim to be cultural, informative, and have a mixture of self opinion pieces and experience writing.
The aim would be to have a publication that would be suitable for people of all backgrounds, students, older people, couples, and families.
